Israeli army... Girls
|
Indeed.
|
I was totally freaked out to be in a supermarket queue in Tel Aviv only to find the pretty giggling teen girls behind me all had assault weapons slung on their shoulders.
|
In Israel, it is a requirement that you join the army. There is no draft. There is no recruitment. You just HAVE to serve. That's why you see so many girls here who aren't your typical army set.
|
My experiences there have been similiar to Daniel's. I've also seen a lot of girls in civilian clothes with automatic weapons. They were all friendly but it is a bit of a trip to see. It is completely legal for settlers to walk around with hard core guns as well.

In a way they have a good system that everyone has to serve. but.... That also means pretty much everyone you see walking down the street is a trained killer. Bit of a catch 22. Not really sure what its like there but i know in the US there are many many people i am very glad have not been trained to use a gun. Wonder what they do with the people that are not physicaly fit enough to handle that sort of thing but dont have real health problems other then being horribly out of shape.
Oh and this post reminds me.. Girls can look really freaking good in green =) |

And yet, they only seemed to send us guys during the various wars and occupation, not the hot chicks!

in the Israeli army you must serve (2 years - girls, 3 years - boys)
but however girls CANT go out of the country (in the army's missions) and Sun Tzu its not legal to wear a weapon (and use it..) if you doesn't have license for that by the way im from israel i was in the navy |

Also, if someone has health problems then they will likely not end up having to serve after showing up and going through all the standard tests. Here are a couple other threads with pics: http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/tilted-...tal-271-a.html http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/tilted-...tal-271-a.html |
You get used to seeing people walking around with guns after awhile and it's not big deal. I felt very safe when I was there among the Israelis. Seeing Arabs on the other hand, not so much, especially if they were carrying a backpack. A little sad but true. My father was in a cafe when a bomb went off in Tel Aviv some years ago. We are very lucky he was not hurt.
Visible guns become part of the normal landscape and promote a very safe environment. |
You know, the first couple of weeks I lived in Jerusalem, I was constantly jarred by seeing kids who looked like they ought to be going to frat parties and getting stoned at concerts, instead patrolling the streets in fatigues and full combat weaponry.
But you get used to it, and eventually, you do become glad to see them. Although it is still a little odd to be hanging out someplace, doing a little idle girl-watching, and realize that the hotties you're scoping are all packing assault rifles.... |
I actually found it to be "hawt". Hot young Israeli girls in uniform carrying an assault rifle. And that's just the girls in uniform. Clubbing and bar hopping in Tel Aviv, fuggadaboutet. Game over. Too many hot chicks. Not just Israeli girls but Jewish girls from all over back for the summer.

I recently ran into an Israeli girl at customs in the Cancun airport. Since I have a FM3 visa instead of your standard tourist visa I have to go to the immigration office to enter or leave the country. Usually this means I don't wait in any lines. Anyway she lost her tourist visa and was waiting to see about getting a replacement. We talked a bit. At first I thought she had some sort of speech problem. Guess I never heard an Israeli accent before. I asked her where she flew in from and she said she didn't fly in was just flying out. I was lost. How do you get to Mexico from Israel without flying in? Well, turns out she did fly- flew into Buenos Aires and hitch hiked her way, alone, to Cancun. She was on leave from the army or just got out, never really got that point clear. I sat talking with her thinking about this cute young girl hitch hiking most of the length of South America, through Central America and then into Mexico. I kept thinking "I wonder how many US citizens would even go to these countries?"
And yes she was hot. Obviously she wasn't in any military dress. Just cut offs and a bikini top, carrying two back packs. When she left she put one on her back and one on her chest. |

Yowzer!! I must say it brings the though of an invasion all too welcome. But as my friend once ruined my womens' prison fantasy, it's not like all of them are some Swedish models. |
