yannick dauby does fantastic environmental recordings.
this link directs you to a series of frog and toad sounds. they're very cool---i am particularly fond of the water bug experiments he tried and of the homebrew hydrophones (for themselves and for their curious sound qualities).

Kinda sounded like an interesting hybrid between an owl and a loon,
that first recording did.
