How to go viral on the internet.

This has been going around the net like wildfire and I can't seem to find any posts on here about it. This has been picked up in blogs and media.

Amy Walker and her 21 accents.
Starting in Europe.
Moving down under and then onto North America.

her brooklyn accent isn't all that impressive... she should have picked queens or bronx since they are much easier.

otherwise, I guess it was interesting to watch.

I heard her on WNPR
Pretty cool

Yeah, her Scottish accent was a bit off (and fails to address the fact that Scotland has multiple accents based on region, but that's another rant). Her Canadian accent sounded like a caricature.

I suspect that a lot of native speakers will hear a difference between her assumed accent and the real thing.

She nailed Belfast vs Dublin, though.

Her German was bad, much different consonants. The rest were good, and her Czech was spot on- just like my friend.

I thought the Russian was a bit heavy. The Russians I know who are actually English-fluent have a lighter accent than that.

thats cuz they are english fluent. :p

anyways, i'd rather deal with virals of this nature opposed to the 2girls1cup kind.

Her Dublin accent was pretty decent but the Belfast one was a little strained. Ironically enough alot of the reason this has become so popular is basically all the natives of each region are either bitching or praising her for her mimicry.

Either way, its entertainment.

My favorite comment regarding this video was posted on Boing Boing:

Her accent from ${MY_LOCALITY} was appalling - a foolish caricature of our noble accent. Her accent from ${YOUR_LOCALITY}, however, was absolutely spot on.

the syndey one was a bit out of key and the okker australian one was pretty forced but not bad anyway.

Well, that's just it: ALL of the accents were caricatures; with the possible exception of one: her own (if she used it).
