Mario + Level Hacks + J-Pop = Awesome
The video is quite long, but you get the point very early on. In summary, so people can appreciate the video, Mario goes through this huge level with no player, no buttons pressed. The ROM hack has it so that the level starts, and from there, he moves throughout the stage, until the end, automatically.
Also, things that trigger sound effects (SMW sound effects) happen in sync with the songs. Videogame and anime music is featured. |
Okay, now. My thoughts on this are abound.
Great video, nice composotion, and overall success with creating such an elaborate 'Super Mario World' stage, complete with enemies, terrain, bonuses & background music galore (I think I might've heard one of the Jpop tracks before, but I can't say from where). It would seem in the stage that what really propeled Mario to and fro were those 'colored-Yoshi-egg-blocks' and the ropes, but I never came across those on my decade-long venture to attain 100% completion of Super Mario World. I've never played Yoshi's Island, (where Mariio is portrayed as a tyke, and Yoshi must protect/transport him around) so I am guessing that is from where those squares came from; also, the transport blocks that function like doors, but without the whole 'stand under + up' motion was also something I wasn't too familiar with. Other than those three items, everything in the stage is straight from the '90 SNES game. Awesome. :D + And as a dedicated viewing and wonderment, how the heck did Mario kill the big Sparky? :surprised: / attach from: http://www.mariomonsters.com/archive...350&info=stats Quote:
Last bit: And as a fanboy, it would have been hyper nice to see the special world 'Masked Koopas' in the stead of the regular koopa troopas. Peace out. http://www.mariomonsters.com/content...koopa/main.jpg |

Also, he didn't kill the big sparky I don't think. He kicked a baby yoshi into it and the yoshi ate it. |
People say I have too much free time on my hands.

I guess I forgot to mention that this is a veritable visual Rube Goldberg jigger...
Man, I don't want to waste another 15 minutes re-watching this to verify, so for those who just watched, did Mario actually finish the level by crossing the tall tape as he was supposed to? |
Someone needs to find one where they do this to mario music instead of this ridiculous j-pop. If it doesn't exist, I guess someone needs to create it.

I don't suppose anyone knows which song is playing in that? I actually find it kind of catchy lol

I don't know all the songs and I haven't even watched the whole video yet.
But the song that starts ~4:20 is from the anime Air. The song is called Tori no Uta. They even conveniently mention the title of the anime in the background... haha Too bad they didn't do that for the other songs (at least not that I can see). |
