This guy kills his wife while shooting holes in his wall to install a TV.
|
That's awful. What a bonehead... feel sorry for the wife though. Her only crime was marrying someone that stupid.
|
Makes me feel bad for being from missouri.
|
He should be charged with negligent homicide. His recklessness put anyone/everyone outside his house in danger, and that lead to the death of his wife!
Original post click to show @WillRavel: Thank you. I've forgotten most of legal vocabulary. |

Ok, that's really sad. He's going to have a difficult time living with that one.

I do believe it helps humanity, for me to at least speak up and say,
'ditto', on the last few posts of my comrades. |
Through a wall and a .22 still kills someone on the first hit? Really, really fishy.

LoL Did you guys listen to the newscast? She was outside. It went through an entire outside wall. It hit her in the chest on the second shot. The written story: http://www.kctv5.com/news/15698864/detail.html
Not so LoL...I wonder if he had plaster walls like my in-laws, if he couldn't poke a hole in it and reverted to his gun. And it sounds like a road rage type of situation, to me. Like maybe he got pissed off at the wall or the satellite tv instructions, and shot it. Partly because it took him two shots to make the hole with the gun. I feel bad for her children, and for her parents. I hope my girls never marry anyone that stupid or wreckless. |
Installing a TV: You're doing it wrong.

This is really sad. :(

I don't mean to thread jack but these articles just strike me at how careless and ignorant people are becoming. Careless and ignorant are euphemisms as I can't think of any better words. Ignoramouses! That isn't even a real word. What is happening? |

kids cant even trust their parents to do the right thing. I'm terrified of being a father for this reason, with my luck it'd be "toddler dies from massive head injuries after pulling turntables down on to itself while learning to walk" or something. yeeeeah.

I feel so sorry for the wife. what kind of a moron tried to put a TV up with a gun? thats like the Simpson's episode where homer is opening the beer with his gun, turning the tv on and off with it, turning the lights off with it.. but not so funny. The world is an unintentionally scary place. |

He told police that his son had decided to follow him in after a bit and that he reactively shot when he saw the movement through the brush. |

the first rule of hunting is to ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS be sure of your target. you NEVER, EVER shoot at movement in the brush. guy should lose his guns and his hunting privileges forever. maybe even be forced to wear a button that says "I shot and killed my 9 year old son because I am a moron" for the rest of his life |
Quote:
Treat all guns as if they are loaded Finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire Be aware of your target and what's behind it Never point a gun at anything you are not willing to kill or destroy He should know these, having been to a hunting safety class to get a permit. This should be an example in classes of how breaking the safety rules can end in tragedy. I guess the best we can hope for at this point is that others learn from it and nobody else dies. |

From what I understand, hunting accidents are treated differently- as described from my friends in Minnesota. Makes no difference to me, makes no difference to the law: negligent homicide. He obviously did not attend that day for his gun safety course, MSD. |
Part of the reason our prisons are so full in the US, relative to other countries, is because our sentences are so much harsher. Assuming this was a genuine accident - and that is clearly something the police need to determine in cases like this - then this guy is going to have enough punishment for the rest of his life, knowing that he killed his wife. I can't even begin to imagine how terrible I'd feel if I were to accidentally kill someone I loved through my own stupidity and nothing more.

Fair is not always equal...part of government's job is deciding when to prosecute and when not to. It's one reason why I'm leaning toward the Republican candidate for Cook County States' Attorney here in Chicago, because he is in favor of allowing police officers to hand out warnings instead of filing charges against people who are found to possess small amounts of drugs. Just because something breaks the law doesn't mean it's a good use of taxpayer money to prosecute it.
