I disagree with everything he said...however, he didn't say one single thing about women that I haven't heard before.

Dr. Phil's credentials are decent, but he often fails to use his training when dealing with "patients" on television, and has on numerous occasions seemingly caused a great deal of problems. If the show is staged people deserve to know and if it's real than he probably should lose his license. If he's just a "moral leader" (a la Dr. Laura of the 90s), then he should mention that his advice is as such and he is not acting as a psychologist.

In addition, Dr. Phil is not legally permitted to practice psychology on his own due to an ethical violation with a 19 year old patient back in 1989, according to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. He gave a 19 year old female patient a job in his office, which essentially put him in the role of duel roles. In addition to this, the young woman testified that the relationship as sexual (which should have meant that Dr. Phil was stripped of his license and was required to seek therapy himself).

People should take his advice with a grain of salt.

Because it's much more comforting to believe that his way of thinking is indicative of a defective mind. It would be too much for some to handle knowing his way of thinking came about from a rational and otherwise normal mind.

I wasn't actually diagnosing him, Logan. I was more exemplifying how Dr. Phil wasn't doing his job. I don't have the expertise to diagnose the chauvinist, nor do I have access to him (which would be necessary for a reliable diagnosis).

He would be a lot more convincing if he wasn't such a poseur. If this guy said his words in a calm, collected, intelligent manner, he'd have a different reaction. Instead, he comes off as a guy who doesn't mean what he says and is JUST trying to push buttons.

It's just his shtick. He does it to get a rise out of people....... and it works.:rolleyes:
