SecretMethod70's Featured Track of the Week Dec 23 - 29, 2007 [HOLIDAY SPECIAL!]

I missed a week, plus it's a holiday, so this week you get 2 songs and an entire album! Enjoy!

So, first, a song from England's Bat for Lashes. "What's a Girl to Do?" is the second single off their debut album Fur and Gold. It also happens to have a fun video to accompany it.

Title: What's a Girl to do? [mp3, 2:58, 4.49MB]
Artist: Bat for Lashes
Album: Fur and Gold (Caroline)

This next little gem was posted on the blog of a successful sci-fi author, with the introduction, "You Don’t Look Like Your Head’s Exploded Yet Today."

I can't think of a more fitting introduction. I won't spoil it by telling you anymore, just listen... (Details follow in the spoiler tag.)

Spoiler: The video shows an appearance by The Beatnix, an Australian Beatles Tribute Band, on the early 90's Australian TV show, The Money or the Gun. If you enjoy this mixture of The Beatles and Led Zeppelin, you can get a better sounding mp3, as well as many other Stairway to Heaven covers right here.

And finally, in honor of the recent movie release, I bring you the 2 disc, original cast recording of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, including Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Lovett. If you enjoyed the movie (or even if you didn't), check out the original!

I am responding here because I have enjoyed much of the precedents, and as a reminder to check back soon, since I don't have time to read in-depth now.

I was unexpectantly aroused by the Bat for Lashes video. I mean, what's hotter than a trick-bike-riding-somewhat-overweight-giant-bunny-that-claps-in-time? That gets me every time. Seriously, I enjoyed the music and the creativity of the video. Thanks for sharing.
