I love this site. You cant choose what you listen to, but instead tell it what you like to listen to, and it plays for you similar music. Ive discovered many songs that I enjoy, and hope it will do the same for you! Registration is free, and required if you listen to it for a while. |

I've been listening to Pandora for a few months now and I'm still loving it.
It has it's quirks though. It's excellent at finding music similar to most bands and artists, but it sucks at finding music similar to specific songs. Also.. It has no idea what music is similar to Weird Al oh, another funny little thing, If a song appears on multiple albums it'll play one version of the song and if you give it a thumbs down it'll start playing a different version of the song. I had James Gang - Walk away playing about every 20 minutes on one of my stations. It's a decent song but I can only take so much.. Anyway I gave it a thumbs down and the very next song it played Joe Walsh - Walk away! So I gave it a thumbs down.. about an hour later it played Joe Walsh - Walk away from his Best of album.. grr!

Really? That's strange. Have you tried an anonymous proxy?
Like http://www.youhide.com/ ? This too - http://lifehacker.com/software/inter...-us-257706.php It'd be a shame to miss out on Pandora. I love it.

I tried Pandora a while back (6 mos, year?) and found that all it suggested to me was bands that I'd never heard of, most of which were unheard of for a reason. Is it still that way?

my musical preferences run to well known blues and classic rock artists...aerosmith, led zep, SRV, zz top, rush, etc. all I ever got back were obscure bands that didnt even remotely resemble what I put in

Musicovery.com
I don't mean to threadjack. I'm assuming this thread is about any innovative online radio stations TFPers have found.
One I've been listening to lately is http://musicovery.com. No signup needed to listen. You begin by choosing the genre(s), mood, tempo, and era of the music you want. You also get to pick Hit, nonhit, and Discovery. Check it out and let me know what you think.

I'll check out Pandora, I've never listened there. As I'm sure many radio stations do now, my favorite local station can be heard online. It's WXPN Univ. of PA radio, a very nice ecclectic mix of all sorts of world music.
