SecretMethod70's Featured Track of the Week Sep 2 - Sep 8, 2007
Something a little different this week. I'm not generally a fan of rap, but Chicago's Lupe Fiasco brings a refreshing perspective to the genre. It's worth reading the lyrics as you listen: http://www.songmeanings.net/lyric.ph...22107858655365 Title: Daydreamin' (Featuring Jill Scott) [mp3, 5.39MB, 3:55] Artist: Lupe Fiasco Album: Food and Liquor (Atlantic / Wea) Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Food-Liquor-Lu.../dp/B000FS9MTW Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lupe_fiasco NPR Review (click "listen"): http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...toryId=6487344 To the Best of Our Knowledge did an interview with Lupe Fiasco regarding "Hip-Hop & Islam" on 06/24/2007. To hear it, click the "listen" link near the top of the page. It begins about 13:00 into the program and is about 12:00 long. (If you don't want to install Realplayer, you might like to know about Real Alternative.) If you want to hear the extended version of the interview (without post-production such as background music), the link to the mp3 can be found underneath the list of books on the page.

I have that album and it's dope.
Will have to check out his next album due Nov. 20th. The wiki link also says he's doing a project with Kanye and Pharrell, should be interesting.
