Maybe I'm lacking art appreciation skills, but all I can think about is how bad these "paintings" must smell... GROSS!!
I don't even like to see/touch/smell that stuff when it's on its way from my body to the toilet/garbage can (via tampon or pad)... get it away from me as quickly as possible. I certainly don't want to see someone else's uterus lining exhibited on a canvas. But hey, each to her own, I guess. (Damn hippie.) ;) |

The paintings are most beautiful but the idea of using...I can't even say it. I thought WOW, they are amazing but also, GROSS, how do they obtain it? how do they get women to comply with using their..."stuff" as paint? i have this weird image in my head that's very gross but also very funny, but it's too terrible to say :) GAAASH! |

Okay, I'm the one who goes around judging all the people in the Keeper/Divacup thread who say it's too gross to use, but I gagged a little bit when I saw that first painting. I mean, it's kind of neat to collect it in that cup and totally satisfying to know I'm doing something so good for me and the world and my wallet, but I mostly just look at it curiously before I dump it out. I always had this feeling that somebody more extreme than me would surface and start doing exactly this... and I'm a little bit sorry that I was right. But some of those are beautiful indeed.
I can't get past what abaya has already mentioned about the smell though... I really really really really really hope she used some kind of acryilic spray to seal the paintings, otherwise her art shows must smell like a high school girl's bathroom. *shudders* |
