What‘s so special about this?

This is a picture of a rock formation near a lake in Burma. The photo can only be taken on a specific day once a year when the sun rays touch the rocks at a certain angle.

This is a picture of two Saudi Arabian women playing cards in a street in Riyadh. These women only gather one day a year at precisely 2:00 in the afternoon to play exactly one hand of Crazy Eights.

Notice anything strange about the women sitting in the street?

"It's only possible to view this image on a certain time of the year, due to the reflection of the angle of the sun."


when you read stuff like that about stuff like this, 99.9999999% of the time, it's bullshit.

If you look carefully at the cliff's reflection, you will notice distinct differences from the "real" cliff, as is often the case in paintings. This isn't distortion or refraction, it is artistic variation.

Besides, it doesn't even look like a photograph.
