It was probably the WORST weapon ever made in any game. And I was the only one I ever saw who used it effectively. Nothing better then seeing: "So-and-So was pinged to death by Mantus" when you kill some one. 
I hear they are replacing it with a shotgun in Tribes Vengence  ...I hope they atleast keep the shocklance which comes in as my second favorite weapon.

Depends, in tribes1 the blaster was far more useful then in tribes2. I'd still manage off a few kills every round with it.
(Was more of a disc / elf / grenade or sniper / shocklance / grenade person my self).
And what the hell are they thinking, removing the blaster? Blasphamy! Sickening to see a renegades based gun to be put into base!
