Logic puzzles
Here are a couple of logic puzzles my professor asked us today.
First one:
You are on an island, and on it are a cabbage, a sheep, and a tiger. Your goal is to move all of these items over to a second island. The problem is that your boat can only fit 1 item at a time, and they have to be transported in the boat. You also can't leave the sheep and the cabbage alone on the island because the sheep will eat it. You can't leave the tiger and the sheep on the island together either as the tiger will eat the sheep. How do you get them all over to the island?
Second one:
You are in a room with 3 light switches, and in the opposite room are 3 light bulbs, all of which are flipped off to start with. You must figure out which switch goes to what bulb, but the problem is you can't go into the room with the bulbs more than once. Here are a few rules: You can't see the light from the room, there is a wall in the way. There is no destroying or altering of anything or moving of anything from room to room. You may flip the light switches on and off as many times as you want.
Thats it. Have fun and i will post the answers later.
