Word of advice: Steer clear of the plungers that have a high rim on the inside. The best way to describe it is if the plunger was split in half, it would look something like the outline of an upside down horshoe with an inner wall that isn't complete.
Let's just say it never fails to catch and keep "stuff" in the space. Who are the ad wizards that came up with this idea?? Is it supposed to provide better suction or something? And it's a total pain to have to take it outside, flip it over, hose it off, and blame the neighbor's dog on whatever stink/mess is left.
I did use my hand once, unprotected. The water started to rise, I panicked and *shoomp* in went my hand. Not the greatest feeling to have. I had to burn off my fingernails to get rid of the smell.
