I really hated 1.6 when it first came out.... the new rifles were useless, they changed all the real weapon names to fake ones, and the riot shield royally fucked up game play.
But now that I have played it for a few months I have gotten used to it. Like someone else said, most servers DO ban the riot shield due to the many bugs it has. Also, I must admit that the automatic downloading of patches makes things a bit easier. The buddy list is also a good addition. This way when me and my clan are scrimming or practicing on a pub we can just click on their name in the buddylist and join that particular server. We used to have to IM each other over AIM/Trillian to get the IP's and how much room there was in a buddy's server, btu all that info is in the buddy list now.
