I would think it'd have to be eithre high grade surgical steel or titanium.
probably titanium, like the chap in the picture, for weight reasons....
If it was made by a foundry, i suppose i'd just have to get the thing autoclaved before i stuck it into my socket... any decent piercing establishment will be good for that i think...
