My car was broken into for a $120 basic cd player couple of years ago so ever since then I have used a portable cd player and keep it hidden in the glove box or the armrest. Plus I live in the dorms so the car is parked a unattneded lot away from traffic.

I got it for about $350 online. I've seen it sold locally in retail stores for anywhere between $500 and $600. Here are a few stores that sell it for $348-$399 :
