My dad has owned '94 and '98 Grand Cherokees. They're nice, and easy to find for pretty cheap used. Both of them only got like 18 mph highway though, and they were 6 cylinders.
Also, if she gets an SUV with a gross vehicle weight of 6000 pounds or more, she'd be able to write off the entire purchase price if it's used for business purposes. In that case a Suburban would be a good pick.
