I honestly think this is a much better idea than the OICW that has been thrown around. Whenever you combine that much stuff into a weapon that has to take all the abuse you can throw at it, you are asking for something to fail. Not to mention it is obscenely large. *I* wouldnt wanna carry that thing around.
This rifle on the other hand looks to be a better approach. Modular, but still small and relatively simple. With H&K's reputation behind it, I think it stands a good chance of going a long way.
And yeah, will there be a civilian model?
