best setup i ever saw was in a basement bathroom.
the environment was perfect for an indoor garden producing a particular type of plant. the room was tiled, so the mildew was controlled. there was a built in fan for ventilation and grounded power for the growing lights. the bathroom also had very large mirrors which helped to reflect the light around.
this particular setup involved cloning one "mother plant", which lived in the toilet with its roots in the bowl held by a suspension device where the seat would have been. The nutrient solution was put in the toilet tank, and mother was fed with a flush.
little mamas were cut from Mother and were grown in rows of neat tidy plastic trays in the bath tub with lights suspended over them via the shower curtain rod. a snake of hoses was hooked up to the tub faucet.
the growing solutions were completely organic. there was a poster of belize on the bathroom door.
