I don't have to say "I love you" to experience love. I don't have to hear the phrase either.
Context - or experience - is the only thing that has meaning. Words are things we invented and tack on to experience in hope of communicating something. Usually, we fail because words are very poor conveyors of anything. But we have a very hard time accepting that.
