Your perspective is common amongst those without kids. Nursing to the age of 1 certainly beats formula from the start. I am actually a Dad not a Mom, but have researched the benefits of mothers milk to some extent. No negatives at all from a physical standpoint, but inumerable benefits.
As far as societal discomforts, more power to ya'. I think once you actually see and "feel " your child, anything that takes away from the well bieng and health of that child goes out the window.
