my laptop back light has been flickering on and of for about 6months now, and its still going strong(ish), with a little shaking it turns back on.
i think the problem is fixable but at a large price...ie not cost effective to fix...so it may become a write off...
maybe check out ur guarentee or see if its covered in any of your home insurance items
