The tactics of this, albeit false
are just used as a means of scaremongering in order to get poeple off of drinking coke and other soda's. Much like the excessive advertising soda compaines used in the first place to get people onto coke
Namely identifying with someone (or some image) above the crowd.
Basically it was just trying to say (in terms of nutrition):
Water -> Good
Coke -> Bad
