Actually, the Washington Post did have an article after the Marine Corps Marathon about several runners who were hospitalized because they drank too much water and lost too many electrolytes. Not a concern for the majority of people, but it can happen.
Also, all this talk about people's thirst mechanisms messed up? What did people do for the thousands of years before studies about how much water to drink came out? I guess people dropped dead from not drinking enough water all of the time. My dog might not be drinking enough water. How do I let him know?
