First of all, there should be game review shows with REAL reviews. It always seems like game reviewers are in publisher's pockets. "Yeah, this game's pretty good. If I didn't have anything else to do, I'd probably play it. I give it a 4." Screw that! If it sucks, it sucks! Not every game is good!
How about gaming trivia game shows? That could be fun.
I think it's probably unavoidable that a "network for gamers" is going to try to sell a certain lifestyle. Every targetted network has done that since MTV invented it in the '80's. I guess G4's numbers are probably telling them just how badly they're missing the boat, though.
