PR's a lot of fun - I'd recommend it. I went there for spring break last year. My roommate from freshman year lives there and he showed me around for a week.

The beaches on the northwestern side of the island are nice - stay away from the shoreline near the casinos for privacy.

If you feel like getting off the beach for a while, drop into El Yunque; it's their rain forest (or one of them, anyway). You can get a guided tour, which will show some good sights, or you can venture out on your own, which is very serene. In the center, there's a waterfall with a spring at the bottom. The water's very cold, but it's relaxing.

I'd definetly check out Old San Juan. Most of the tourists are usually shopping, so it's not that bad once you're inside. It gives you great views of the city and some of the old armaments inside are pretty cool, too.
If you're not into the shopping/bar-scene thing, I'd go there and then head back out of town. Night life there is pretty slick, though - lot of salsa bars and the people there are quite congenial.

There are many other things to do there, but if you just want to sit on the beach, try and find a condo or hotel in the northwest part of the island, I'd say. My friend said while I was there that the southern shores are nice, with quite a sparse population, but we never went there, so I can't say for sure about that.

At any rate, enjoy the trip, should you go, and if you've got any specific questions, PM me. Have fun.
