It really depends on what you are doing with it. But as a starter, go for more RAM (get up to 512MB at least) and upgrade your video card to a newer NVidia or Radeon. Just my 2cents.

But if you are just surfing, sending/reading e-mail, and doing general office type stuff, don't waste your money. Most people really don't need beefy systems.
