okay.. i rarely rant.. but im soo upset right now i literally have the shakes.
A little backstory:
I'm taking a beginning Visual Basic course at school right now for fun. I'm paying out of pocket for this class, and it won't affect my GPA at all.. since I already have my BS. Since im paying for this class with my hard earned money (I work at the school for a measly 6 dollars an hour, and my class costs 600 bucks + the price of books), I expect to learn something. I learned my way around the VB interface somewhat, and it really helped strengthen my programming logic and it was kinda fun too.. VB is fairly easy.
About mid March we get this assignment to work on a simple student registration program, coupled with an administrators program to enter courses into a file. At that point we hadn't learned even how to do arrays, so all the information we needed to do the project was new material. The next week we get to pick out groups to work with. Since i don't know anyone in the class I just signed the group sheet first and let anyone who wanted to work with me sign the sheet. (MISTAKE #1 ) Needless to say.. while other kids were working together.. I had a group of 1 other member. This kid seemed okay, I sat by him in lab all semester and helped him on some of his labs from time to time. We have milestone points in the project we have to check off with the teacher. The first 2 didnt require any actual work.. make some forms and do some psuedocode. Milestone #3 (whjich is due tomorrow) is present a working version of the project to the class.
Up until sunday 4/26 I hadn't seen ANY of the code from my team member. I had been asking him for a week and a half to show something and all he had was bullshit excuses. Me panicing because he was responsible for 1/2 the project.. I did what any reasonable person would do. I went and told the Professor

. Her reply was " Be stern with him, make him work!" Oookay Lady.. thank's for all your help. Now he whipped the code up in 2 days and it works .. it's ugly and uncommented, but works.. My part is still in the dark for a few functions. I ask him to meet to help me figure out what im doing wrong and he starts laying into me.

I'm already trying to implement your code with mine and let me tell you its really fucked up!!!!! I don't understand why you wrote all my array names completely wrong all over your code, when I wrote your correct array names on my code? I believe we need to fix that up even before you keep writing your code. I'm currently on campus if you want to work. Also it doesn't look like you have even nearly 80% of your code done.

I'm going to read the specs very carefully and I'd advise you do the same.
We need to have 2 separate EXE's when we turn in, so the code you sent me is kind of pointless to me.
I REALLY don't appreciate you criticizing me when you didn't seem to give 2 shits about this project until the last week or so.
I would however appreciate you changing your form names and list box names to something that makes sense versus what they are now "lstOne" is not a great naming convention. It doesn't affect my code at all, but I think when these projects are getting graded..she's going to take points off because of naming conventions and variable names. Also please comment an explanation for each procedure and function you have in your code please. I'm going to change my UDT definitions to match the way yours is so it gives some semblance of us actually working together and collaborating on this thing. When can you work on this tomorrow? I can meet ANY time ANYwhere after 3pm. We need to talk face to face about some shit.

If you say that we need to turn in 2 separate exe files, that is fine by me. I already have finished writting all my code. If you say that I personally don't give a shit about this project, how the hell did I finish my part of the project and you haven't? So don't talk shit! The last thing I have to say, that I couldn't wait for tomorrow is that boys don't cry. Im my country they have always told us that boys don't cry, so I didn't appreciate how you went and cried all over to the proffesor and Matt about how I haven't done my part. When I already finished my part of the project. Last week I went to talk to the proffesor's office and even she started giving me shit about why I haven't done anything. And I repeat I have already finished my part of the project. So next time, please don't talk whithout knowing.

So my question for you guys is.. Who is in the wrong here? How would you handle this? Also.. please post some of your groupwork horror stories.. It would really cheer me up
