Agreed. Working out late keeps you awake. Early evening is better, right after work. Morning is good, if you can swing it. If you've got an office job and get a bit drowsy in midafternoon, a lunchtime workout is just the thing. That's when you _want_ to be awake. Also, I've found that the endorphin rush from exercising before work or the middle of the day helps me to deal better with stress.
