Also, Logitech webcams (I know, not exactly your normal surveilance cameras) can be activated upon detection of movement and record, and they have a resolution of 1 megapixel for some models.
The program and the computer must be active at the time, of course, and it can save the images to hard drive or you can have them uploaded to the internet.
