Sort of.
When I was 17 our house was broken into and i managed to get into my parents' room and tell my dad. This was before I owned my own firearm. He got his pistol and told me to stay where I was with my mom. I could hear what was going on. He held the burglar at gunpoint, he drew a weapon, shots were exchanged, though i wasn't sure who was firing at what time. All i know as that my dad shot him twice in the chest and called 911 and that he died in in the hospital the next day.
my dad had no regrets about it and i wouldn't have either. A complete act of self defense.
