If it was the PSU or RAM the system would go down as well, and it would be more random them "every 2 levels". Other applications would also be effected. EA tech can not admit to you there code is bad but that's exactly what it sounds like.

edit: other idea, you said this is the ONLY game you play. Not that I'd expect it without signs in other apps/the OS but it could be your GPU up and dying under the games demand.
