Its not the fact that he went to the astros.. If he had said last year, that he wanted to pitch in his home town, and be closer with his family, I would said "WHAT A GREAT GUY" and I still think that to a degree.. what peeves me a bit is that he made all that ado about retiring, essentially tricked us yankee fans that loved him for 6 years. Not to mention all the hulabaloo he brought by announcing that this would be his last year, recieving hails from baseball fans around the country.
Making bold statements like "If I'm near a baseball field next year, it'll be as a fan with my family"
And somehow its the Yankees' fault for not giving Pettitte "respect"
What respect does he want? Yankee fans loved him, NY loved him... for 9 years he was the Yankees' foundation. Obviously, by respect, he means a good lucrative offer.
