Yeah, Lasereth is right, someone screwed up the calculations and did some very weird stuff with American Standard numbers and Metric numbers, I think the landing was based in meters, and the burn period was based off of miles, which it makes sense, because if the landing distance from atmosphere to surface was say.... a few hundred thousand meters, then programming the burn period to last for a few hundred thousand miles, then you've got that sucker buried faster than you can say Jenna Jameson.
