I probably should have just edited my earlier post, but I thought this thread could use a bump.
I disproved my own theory - I copied all my Kazaa files (at work) onto a CD and loaded them on my computer at home - I figured if I had the existing files from the db folder, it would work just like at work. Long story short - no deal - it knew it was on a new computer - even popped up the settings window and asked for a username and e-mail.
Oh well - I guess I'll just have to get the newer version.
As an aside - I downloaded emule today to give it a try.
I was getting impossibly low download speeds (like 2 kbs). One file will download in 7 days, 21 hours if I leave my computer on. No thanks.
