It's just the way life is. I'm in my late 40s and I gave in a couple of years ago -- when I went back to college and realized that a lot of the stuff they were giving us to read was in _really tiny type._ Wasn't just me, either, the 22-year-olds were complaining.
The first year, I went for the expensive "blended" bifocals -- no visible line, and the transition between the two lense strengths is a little smoother. This time around I said screw it, not worth the extra hundred bucks, _let_ everybody see the goddamn bifocal line.
Anyway, embrace it. If you wait another 10 years, there'll be a way of fixing it -- a surgical procedure they're already doing in Europe -- but I say, the damn glasses are a whole lot better than surgery.
