If I were in a murderous rage then there wouldn't be such a thing as friend/foe, they'd all be targets and I wouldn't have to think about it.
If this was say a combat situation and you're trying to avoid friendly fire, then that's something else all-together. I think I could tell rather quickly whether someone is my friend or not. Uniform, equipment and such would be a give away.
