If I remember correctly from materials class, some metals can be sharpened to a finer point than others because of the "crystaline" structures inherent in the metals.... I'd have to look it up, but I think some metals can actually be "thinner" than others, before they break down...... Pullin this straight out of the old wazoo, until I can check on it though....
