i think a 22mag is a awesome little round. fairly inexpensive to shoot and pretty powerful. i've shot just about everything from small game [rabbits, groundhogs, etc] to the occasional whitetail that got accidentally magnetized.
i recently sold mine it was a marlin stainless with a 7 shot clip. the one i had shot cci's the best. you tried those?
