wireless advice
I'm having one hell of a time trying to keep my wireless connection running well and would greatly appreciate if anyone out there has any ideas for me.
My computer is blazin' and we have RoadRunner installed in my roommate's room. We've got a linksys 11b router and I've got an 11b USB access point on my PC. From time to time if I unplug the cable modem and the router and plug them back in I'll once again have a kick-ass connection. Usually, however, my connection isn't much better than dial-up. When playing online games it 'pings out' or hitches up for 2-3 seconds every 60 seconds on the dot. I've been told this may have something to do with the 2.4ghz cordless phone we have but the problem persists even when the phone is unplugged. At the same time, both laptops in the house have great connections at all times w/the router and never run into the same problems as me on the PC.
Anyone have any ideas on what I need to do to tweak my system? Would upgrading to the 11g platform make the needed difference? Am I possibly missing something in the configuration?
