I took several courses in college on business law. We heard some of the most outrageous cases and settlements that were won by the lamest circumstances. A burgular of a warehouse falls onto the floor from the skylight, breaks his leg and sues the company. $300,000 settlement. I was literally appalled at some of the cases we read. People know there is a loophole in our legal environment and they will do what it takes to benefit from it.
