I don't think he should be executed. He's a corrupt cop, not a serial killer. I don't see how you can really classify him as a traitor, either.
Also, while his behavior is sickening, buried in all that BS are several legitimate concerns about the way the NYPD is run. There are obviously better ways to voice those concerns, but hopefully something can be learned from this incident in addition to simply punishing the cop in question.
