kissing is an art form... I personally enjoy the passion involved with kissing....
Ive been told by everyone ive ever kissed that i am a GREAT kisser... and my technique... well i dont want to give away my secrets..... just kidding, but really the best thing you can do (especially when kissing someone for the first time) is adjust to the moment... most of the time you and your partner's kissing techniques may vary.... She may open her mouth wider than you, or she may not use her lips enough or you might not use your tongue enough.... well the best thing to do is compensate and take over... in a sense i try to "persuade" the kissing to go a certain way...
Like for example, a girl i kissed a while back, she would just press her lips on mine and just use her tongue.... well i enjoy using my lips as well and using a certain motion, so I adjusted a bit and basically "invited" her to use her lips more so that the motion would be in rythym... well it worked well and she used her lips more.... (I hope you understand... kinda hard to explain)
but to answer your question, one isnt any better then the other... # 1 or #2... it depends on how you kiss... and you can basically take the lead and let things flow
