There are 2 mate in 2 move dangers... Nf5 then Qg7... or Ng6 the Qh8. If we take the rook, we wait for his move. If Nf5, then we Qg4, if Ng6, then we move our pawn from f6 to f5 defending h8 with our queen.
Ne7 is not a bad move, just less aggressive than I would play.
