We call it a special ( excellent student food)
This is an excellent recipe for feeding large numbers or having over two days (left in pot it matures and get a real intense flavour).
The pasta you used is optional we used spirals or tagliatellie (?).
There is no hard rule change according to your tastes (we love garlic, as you will see) can be done as veggie food.
You will need (vary according to number) for two people for two days:
Large bag of pasta
Two large courgettes
Four large onions
6 cloves of garlic.
6 Sausages or a whole hoop of Spanish paprika sausage (Chorzio)
2 tins of chopped tomatoes.
Quart pint of gravy)
Tub of mushroom
Tin of sweetcorn.
Olive oil
Large pot with lid
Fry the sausage in small amount of the oil for 5 mins.
Then add onion and courgettes (do not let brown).
Put the pasta on to cook.
Add the garlic and mushrooms, mix the gravy with the chopped toms and add.
Add sweet corn, drain the pasta and the mix into the pot.
Then serve.
This recipe is so simply and you can vary so much that it kept me and housemates alive through university.
All my housemate still cook it and it is interesting to see how we have all change the recipe since we no longer live together.
