It worked beautifully! She had, in fact, thought about it but hadn't tried it.
I will tell you that laundry detergent foams a lot, so I used about a table spoon only in the wash cycle. No soap in the prewash.
Granted, I found this out the hard way, I got some foam.
I've used the garment bag, but the padding still breaks down fast in the washing machine, and the spin cycle is hell on underwire.
Too many people are afraid of thinking outside the box. Your dishwasher is a sealed environment, that sprays things with high pressure jets of soapy water. It cleans whatever you want it to.
I did put all of them in the top rack, I thought the straps might get caught in the spinny thing on the bottom. I couldn't get the straps to completely not fall through, so up they went.
