Sounds like you need a Current Conditioner, All of my electronics are pluged into power strips that are pluged into current conditioners....... my altecs never pop.
but I have a custom setup, all my computers are on their own circut..... hooked to a subpanel off the main box.
I suppose that may make a difference.
