It's not that they "won't" play it, it's that they don't know what they're missing. I tell people all the time about Eternal Darkness, and no one cares.  Metroid Prime is loved by a ton of people, but I've met so many that simply won't try it after playing it for 15 minutes. One of my friends even said it was the worst game ever made simply because of the controls.
