I do own it. It isn't that BAD an album, but it is just so different from what Garth Brooks had done musically over his career, that I can understand why it got the scorn that it did.
Plus, people forget that it was originally done as a soundtrack-type thing for a movie about this fictional rock musician named Chris Gaines. It wasn't supposed to be a stand-alone thing, but the movie died in pre-production after the album was released.
